Meet the Artist: Betty Osborn
For Betty Osborn, inspiration begins outdoors.
With a love for nature and the beauty found in the world around her, Betty finds joy in slowing down, taking in the details and capturing those moments through her artwork. Flowers, foliage and other elements of the natural world provide an endless source of color, shape and inspiration.
Working with watercolor pencils on canvas, Betty combines the softness and blending qualities associated with watercolor with the control and detail of drawing. Her modern approach allows her to build layers of vibrant color and intricate detail, creating pieces that feel both lively and delicate.
But Betty's connection to the arts in Columbus goes beyond creating her own work. She also gives her time as a docent at the Columbus Art Gallery, helping welcome visitors and making the gallery an inviting place to discover and enjoy art.
During Fall for the Arts, visitors can meet Betty and see her work at Vintage Pine as downtown businesses become galleries and the entire district becomes a celebration of creativity.
